Just over a 4 hour train journey from Vienna Hbf, Vienna makes the perfect second stop on a European interrailing trip, or venture out to Prague for a night or two if you're in Vienna for some time.
Budapest, Hungary
Just over a 2.5 hour train journey from Vienna Hbf, Budapest is a perfect stop to make after Vienna. Train tickets you can nab for only €9 if you book in advance - bargain!
Salzburg, Austria
In just 2.5 hours on the train, you can be on your way to the iconic 'Sound of Music' countryside and mountains. Salzburg is definitely the place to go if you're in Austria for some time.
