Three Incredible Days in Miami
3 Day Itinerary
We travelled to Miami in July 2025 for the first leg of our honeymoon and the city absolutely blew us away. It was West’s first time in the US and considering he was so apprehensive to go, he fell in love with Miami so hard! It was a great introduction to the States and as a result, we have big plans to return in 2027 for a National Park adventure.

Miami has a huge Cuban influence and represent almost half of the population. What does this mean? A lot of history and most importantly, delicious food and drinks!

This guide will take you through an incredible three days in Miami as well as suggestions of what else to do if you’re in Miami for longer and where to travel to next.

Itinerary summary
Day 1: Wynwood Walls, Double decker bus, Little Cuba, Art Deco District
Day 2: Everglades, Downtown Miami, Sky Metro
Day 3: Ocean drive and South Beach beach day
Day 1 - Art and Little Cuba
Whilst you’re in Miami, we think it is money well spent to opt for the Hop on Hop Off Bus Tour. There are a few reasons:
-
Miami in the summer can be unbearably hot and travelling via bus can speed up your travels.
-
Ubers across the city can be very expensive and transport isn’t always an option.
-
The 48-hour bus tour with the Everglades option means that the tour through the Everglades is included and removes that stress. If you are planning on exploring the Everglades for more than one boat trip, then don’t opt for the Everglades add-on option.
-
Some of the stops on the Big Bus tour just happen to be stops we are planning to take you to in this guide.

For tickets, click here. However, please note, at the Big Bus affiliated Everglades tour, there is an option to watch the free of charge ‘Gator show’ at the end. In other words, it is a much much sadder Sea World but with two alligators in tiny shallow pools. I did challenge the man promoting the show and although he admitted it was terrible, he explained these were gators who were nuisances in the wild. I do not personally believe this but it’s important to note before purchasing tickets. Alternatively, you can do the bus tour and opt for a different Everglades experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the bus tour and were so thankful to sit at the top in the wind going on fast roads! Apart from when we got stuck in traffic…

08:30 - Breakfast and early morning walk
You’re in Miami now! Have a slow start to your day and grab some breakfast.

10:00 - Big Bus to Wynwood Walls
Check the timing of the buses at your closest bus stop. The closest bus stop to us was at the South Beach stop. The buses start at 09:20 and are every 30 minutes. Wynwood Walls opens at 10:30 so time the bus for then.

Wynwood Walls is a really cool outdoor art display showing off some of the amazing artistic talent in Miami. From 3D statues to floor paintings and murals, you’ll have a great time exploring Miami’s artsy side. Surrounding the walls are lots of paintings and displays too which adds to the experience.

You can buy your tickets inside the museum or ahead of time on the official website. Tickets cost $12 for an adult.

WYNWOOD WALLS
12:00 - Little Havana
Get back on the Big Bus (time it well) and then get off at Little Havana. Little Havana was our favourite place in Miami, you wouldn’t think you were anywhere else other than Cuba! Walk around the streets to get a feel for Cuban culture and then choose a restaurant for lunch.
We recommend Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina. It was absolutely delicious with 2-4-1 mojitos! There are hundreds of rum options to choose from…

RESTAURANT IN LITTLE HAVANA
15:00 - Free time in Little Havana
Spend the afternoon in Little Havana exploring what Cuban culture offers modern America.

18:30 - Dinner in the Art Deco District
Nestled in the Art Deco District is Española Way and other side streets which hosts loads of restaurants. Choose a restaurant of your liking and enjoy an evening soaking up Miami culture.
16:00 - Free time
Your sightseeing for the day has come to an end. Enjoy your evening in Prague. For bar and dinner spot recommendations, see our Prague Food & Drink Guide.
Day 2 - Gators and Downtown

Today is the day to visit the Everglades. Spend the day around the Everglades and we will continue the itinerary in the late afternoon. Remember to take a camera strap! Those airboats go FAST.

Evening - Take some time to freshen up after a long exciting morning and then head out to Downtown Miami for the evening. To get there, we recommend hopping on the Metro. It is free and is a really cool experience.

Enjoy some drinks and dinner - oh, and search for some great 2-4-1 deals on cocktails!

MAMA TRIED, DOWNTIME MIAMI
Day 3 - Ocean Drive and South Beach
Today is beach day! You haven’t been to Miami unless you’ve strolled down the iconic Ocean Drive and picked a spot for the afternoon at South Beach. Miami beach is huuuuge and there is so much space to pitch up. The beach stretch is massive and goes on for miles.
There are also plenty of beach clubs to stop at and you could also join in in the beach games.

Miami really is that place.

OCEAN DRIVE
Where to go now?
The Florida Keys start less than 90 minutes from Downtown Miami and heading there next is an incredible choice that you won’t regret. See our Florida Keys guide.

If theme parks are more your vibe, then you’re only 3-4 hours from Orlando. We’ve not explored that far together but check with local travel agents as you can always get a great package deal.
